The Calhoun Sandcrab Freshmen Black dropped a 34 to 14 decision to the Beeville Trojans in Beeville on Thursday night. Calhoun and Beeville played relatively even football through the first half with Jayce Campos scoring on a quarterback keeper to keep the Sandcrabs only trailing 13-6 at halftime. Beeville scored twice again in the third quarter to extend their lead, but the Crabs answered with an Edgar Munoz touchdown run and Jayce Campos 2 point conversion run to keep the Crabs in the game. A pair of untimely turnovers, one on an apparent touchdown run and another after a 4th down conversion in Beeville territory hurt the Crabs tremendously as Beevile was able to capitalize and put the game out of reach. The Calhoun Freshmen Black and White teams will combine to play as one team at Tuloso-Midway on Thursday.
