Two Pitchers Team Up As Sandies Defeats Corpus Christi Moody In Shut-Out
Sandies defeated Corpus Christi Moody 9-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Aubreigh Pena induced a groundout from #15 to finish off the game.
One bright spot for Corpus Christi Moody was a single by #6 in the first inning.
Faith Gaytan was in the pitcher’s circle for Sandies. She went two innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and walking one.
#13 toed the rubber for Corpus Christi Moody. She lasted three innings, allowing 14 hits and nine runs while walking zero.
Sandies totaled 14 hits. Kylee Cormier, Gaytan, Arly Sanchez, Brianna Villarreal, Amri Gaona, and Catherine Hernandez all collected multiple hits for Sandies. Cormier led Sandies with three hits in three at bats. Sandies didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hernandez had seven chances in the field, the most on the team. Carly Martinez led Sandies with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
